About Me

I’ve been in the fitness, nutrition, and health industry for over 30 years. I was a professional dancer, fitness instructor, aerobics, weight trainer, yoga and been a runner most of my life. I started studying nutrition 10 years ago. It all started when I was a dancer.

The industry was all about how tall and how thin you were this started my bad relationship with food and my body. The day I took control of my issues and went to see a nutritionist was the day it all started. I was a sponge, learning how to love my body and eat the foods I love.

Once you understand how women’s bodies fluctuate DAILY, you will stop looking at the scale. Never have to be on a diet ever again, stop sabotaging yourself. Love your body and life.

Fitness

We all have obstacles to exercising, whether it is a lack of motivation, a busy schedule, or adopting a harmful “all or nothing” mentality. Working out looks different for everyone and we all have different ways of honouring our commitment to fitness. These habits can interfere with your workouts, but there are ways to overcome them.

Taking care of our body is one of the most important things you can do to improve your mental wellbeing. We have 80 thousand thoughts a day. Most of them are sabotaging, negative self-talk, complaining and the same thoughts from the day before. How we think and feel depends directly on how we feel. Our brain needs to be reprogramed, in what we say.

When coaching my clients, we aim for a minimum of 30 minutes of physical activity, running, speed walking, gym classes plus weights. Accountability is absolutely a huge part in starting new habits to change your body and love you body.

Physical activity releases feel-good chemicals into the body, like endorphins and serotonin. These chemicals make you feel good, lift your mood, increase your energy levels, and improve your sleep. Getting active also gives your general health and wellbeing a significant boost.

Nutrition

Let’s face it, nutrition is EVERYTHING. Let’s repeat this, NUTRITION IS EVERYTHING.

When you want to be healthier, fitter, leaner and have more energy, it’s always based around what you are eating. This doesn’t mean that you can’t lose weight from eating crappy food. You may find that your energy might suffer, moods, and sleep may be affected. Who wants that, we want to feel great, happy, joyful and love our bodies.

Enjoying meals with lots of different flavors and textures each week, so you’ll never get bored. There are plenty of options for vegetarians, pescatarians and gluten-intolerant people too.

Personally, I love quick easy meals. For my clients wanting to lose weight it can be much easier to have some basic meals and on weekends when you have more time, change it up. In Your Total Wellness one to one coaching programs, we look at your nutrition. Then make a meal plan that works for you and around your busy life.
